FIREFIGHTERS rescued two cows which had become stuck in trees in North Yorkshire today.
One animal got its head caught in a tree on land at Escrick, near York, while the other became trapped near Northallerton.
The crew attempted to release the latter cow using strops and farm machinery, and a vet attended to sedate the animal.
The crew then used a saw and chainsaw, along with hand tools, to release the cow.
The pictures of the cow rescue at Northallerton have been tweeted by North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.
