THE family of a missing York mum have urged the public to contact police with any sightings.
Colleen Jarvis, 55, was last seen leaving her home in Burlington Avenue at about 12.15pm on Thursday, May 26, and police said she may have travelled to Knaresborough, Harrogate or Malton using public transport.
In a statement released on Monday, her family said: "Please Colleen, we are so worried about you. Just let us know you’re ok. We love you and miss you."
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said officers were increasingly concerned for Colleen's welfare, who went missing from her home in York last week.
Inspector Carol Kirk, of North Yorkshire Police, said officers were working around the clock to find Colleen, but needed assistance from anyone who may have seen her.
Insp Kirk said: "Police are only involved purely because we are so worried about her, and we want to reunite her with her family. Colleen has gone away before, but never for this amount of time.
"Colleen hasn't contacted her family for days, which is out of character as they are very close. There are a number of officers out there searching for her at the moment, and CCTV is being checked as well. We're taking this very seriously, we need to find her as soon as possible and we really need the public's help with this."
Anyone with information or who has seen Colleen since Thursday should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
