MAY day party-goers dodged the showers in Copmanthorpe at the weekend, when the village's street fair kicked off.
The community celebration was taking place for the 26th consecutive year, and this year also marked the Queen's 90th birthday.
The village's Low Green was transformed on Monday afternoon with stalls and children's rides, a bouncy castle, a miniature train, live music, hot dogs, ice cream and a cafe in the Church which offered shelter from the heavy showers that came and went early in the afternoon but could not dampen the fair's party spirit.
Colourful face painting brightened up some faces and spirits, while the village's Brownies created their own "human fruit machine" to keep people entertained.
