YORK A' clung on to the leadership of the Hirepoint Under-15 League East Zone in athriller at Malton.

The home side reached 118-4 with B Holtby (42) top scoring but York just overhauled them in the last over thanks to K Waite (45) and A Davis (31no).

Hemingbrough continue to lead the West Zone after a nine-wicket win over Selby where Tom Collins (45) and Seb Swain (4-12) were ther shining lights.

Heworth defeated Rufforth by 60 runs with David McDermottroe (52no) setting the pace with support from Mark Dobson (28) and Will Peet (22) in a total of 146-6.

Stillington crashed out of the cup at Londesbrough Park, and also lost to Pocklington in the league by 36 runs to dent their chances of retaining the championship. Bowlers Jed Vale (2-6) and D Davis (3-1) were the stars for Pock.

Stamford Bridge earned their first victory of the season when they pipped Dunnington by six runs. Jack Winfield (44no) and Josh Britland (38no) were top scorers for Bridge and Adam Sutcliffe (52no) replied for Dunnington.

Wheldrake bowlers Grant (3-5) and Hamilton (4-3) routed Ovington in a seven-wicket win.

Woodhouse Grange beat Sheriff Hutton Bridge by eight wickets for their first victory of the campaign.

Osbaldwick took the honours at Yapham where M Hattee's undefeated 41 steered his side to a nine-wicket win. Scott Reeves scored 40 as Bishopthorpe beat York B' by 11 runs.

Selby with maximum scores from Wottenden, Cruise and Nicholson set a total of 121-1 that was too much for Wheldrake.

The Selby lads' 36-run victory saw them maintain their lead at the top of West Zone in the York Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Under-13 League.

West Zone leaders York A' had a comfortable win at Clifton Alliance by 104 runs and Sheriff Hutton Bridge, who are joint leaders of the East Zone, stormed to a 144-run win at Yapham where four batsmen reached the maximum allowed runs before retiring.

Malton & Old Malton kept up the challenge in the East Zone with a 36-run win at Heworth B'. Adam Hill destroyed Heworth's reply with a spell of 3-9 in three overs.

Newcomers Kelfield enjoyed their first win as they restricted York B' to 46-5 and knocked the runs off for a seven-wicket victory.

There were also wins for Copmanthorpe despite G Payne taking 5-21 for Ovington and Osbaldwick, who triumphed by seven wickets at Dringhouses, where Adam Burton made 32.

Woodhouse Grange batsmen Sherwood and Shepherd both scored 30 to guide their side to a 29-run win over Pocklington and in a low scoring game Bishopthorpe beat Cawood by ten wickets.
