THREE York RUFC teams left Twickenham unbeaten after excelling at the 2007 National Mini and Junior finals.

The Under-9, U10 and U11 sides all fought out draws in their respective finals to share the silverware with their opponents.

York U11s completed two years without tasting defeat by beating local rivals Otley 1-0 in the last four of the cup competition at the home of English rugby and then sharing the spoils with Salisbury 1-1.

Aaron Johnson's try secured semi success but Salisbury forged ahead early in the final with a fortunate try before concerted pressure was rewarded with an Adam Price equaliser.

The second half saw York press for victory but the breakthrough proved elusive.

York's U10 and U11s fought out 0-0 draws with Nottingham and Old Northamptonians in their respective Plate finals.

The 14-minute matches were played before the England Saxons v Scotland A' international and the County Cup final between Lancashire and Devon.

Almost 200 people made the journey from York after all three teams progressed through a qualifying tournament in Nottingham.

It was the second time in three years that York had made it to Twickenham and won, or shared, the National Mini and Junior Cup and, about the achievement and experience, U11s coach Nick Elliot said: "It was a fantastic effort for York to get three sides to Twickenham in three different age groups and I think everybody enjoyed the chance of playing there."

Former Bath, England and British Lions prop Gareth Chilcott presented the teams with their medals and trophies.
