Joint-men of the match Josh Potter and Ricky Watson excelled as they both scored hat-tricks when York Acorn ARLC Under-11s continued their good form with a 32-16 win at Drighlington.

They also impressed ex-Salford City Reds coach Karl Harrison, whose son plays for Drig.

Acorn showed great determination and excelled in defence, twice holding a Drig player up over their line to deny them a try.

Potter topped the tackle count but was pushed close by hard-working captain Harry Bromwich. Forward Charlie Settle received the most improved player award with some great driving runs and good tackling.

York Acorn U10s gave their best performance of the season when encountering their stiffest task of the term away to Stanningley B'.

New signing Reece Rushforth scored two outstanding tries to earn him the man-of-the-match award as the York side triumphed 34-22.

Alex Hardcastle, still only eight, bagged his first try of the season from a well-worked move.

Prop Reece Arthur was a willing runner with the ball despite some ferocious tackling and again scored.

The try of the game came from a high Calum Langan kick which Adrian Maynard caught on the full to crash over the line. Henry Andrews added a try to round off a good display.
