ON MONDAY of this week, I had an appointment at York Hospital with Dr Hall for day care unit treatment. I feel I must write to you to say a big thank-you to Dr Hall, my consultant, and his team, and staff on the unit for their care and understanding.
They were all so understanding, nothing was any trouble, it was lovely to be treated as a patient and human being instead of a client and a customer.
We are still needing care at home, all our surgeons and doctors and nurses are doing a wonderful job.
Then I read in The Press about the maternity units being closed. This is so sad.
I feel a good way to balance the account, with less than half the patient beds and so much redundancy in York, is to halve the number of directors.
This would soon put the account on an even keel.
I have been involved with geriatric nursing for the biggest part of my working life, and I always remembered that my patients were someone's mum and dad.
