In the latest qualifier of the York Open £1,000 Individual Darts Tournament sponsored by John Smiths, John Mooring had legs of 16, 18 and 19 to progress to the semi-final where he met Danny White (18, 19 and 20).
White had legs of 19 and 20 to take a 2-0 lead before Mooring hit 19, 18 and 18 to progress to the final where he met Mick Wilsden (18, 18, 19 and 20).
Mooring had legs of 15 and 19 to defeat Wilsden (18) 3-1 in the final.
With ten excellent players already qualified the opportunity to progress now becomes a little easier from the last three heats, the first of which takes place tonight at the Crescent WMC.

Shepherds put in the performance of the week in the John Smith's Bulmer's Men's Darts League. Heath Scaife (17, 18) Dave Gibbons (20), Rich Saville (20, 124 bull finish) and Chaz Ramsden (14) giving them an 8-1 win over Rose.
