LOVERS of song will adore It Won't Be Soon Before Long. The front man Adam Levine is one of the hottest song-writing talents around.
But although the likes of Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Natasha Bedingfield have commissioned his best works so far, Maroon 5 have kept enough modern-day classics for their own repertoire.
The likes of If I Never See Your Face Again and Makes Me Wonder are instant hits, with an endearing ageless quality. But Adam and his cohorts are better heard in small doses.
Although there are touches of Will Young in Levine's voice, he doesn't possess that all-important edge.
However, if you can overlook the vocals, there is much to enjoy on Maroon 5's second album.
