WITH reference to the personal injury cycling claims unit (Pedalling a new service, The Press, May 23), who will set up a scheme to claim compensation for pedestrians and motorists who sustain injury or damage to cars due to the actions of inconsiderate cyclists?
My own experience was when a youth totally ignored my indication to turn left, came up on my inside and rode into the side of my car, causing damage.
I took the youth and his cycle to his home to discuss compensation for the damage with his parents, but they did not want to know, and even implied that I should have allowed for their son ignoring my signal.
The damage was subsequently repaired at my expense.
