ALL of a sudden the blue curtains fell, the coloured lights started flashing and Shane Filan ran on stage. The crowd roared and everyone remained on their feet, dancing, the entire night.

Fans were whispering how they would be disappointed if Shane didn’t sing his greatest hits. Luckily for them, he did not disappoint. Westlife came back to life. Listening to their former frontman's performance of What About Now, You Raise Me Up and Uptown Girl felt like you were transported back in time.

Filan's quirky and charismatic stage presence charmed the diverse audience. Walking into the hall, you’d think it would be filled with Nineties' fans, but there were girls, boys, men, women of all ages.

A wave of hands swayed in the air as he sang his Irish boy band hits. He pointed the microphone to the audience, and a big smile spread across his face as they sang the lyrics back at him. You Raise Me Up did exactly that, as the goosebumps started to appear.

He performed songs from both his solo albums too, such as Everything To Me from 2013's You And Me and the title track from last year's Right Here, and his cover songs were just as impressive. Singing Michael Bublé's Home, tears filled your eyes and the swaying started again. He covered Walk The Moon’s Shut Up And Dance With Me with such enthusiasm, it was like it was written for him.

As Shane returned for two encore songs, everyone left wreathed in smiles.
