YORK golfer Simon Dyson will hope to hit improved form when he tees off at the Celtic Manor Wales Open in Newport today.
The Malton and Norton Golf Club professional disappointingly fell out of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth at the midway stage last week, and will look to rediscover the form that has won him more than 400,000 Euros this season.
Dyson tees off at the first hole at 1pm, alongside Welshman Stephen Dodd and Spaniard Jose Manuel Lara.
South African Retief Goosen makes his debut in the tournament and, at number ten, will be the highest player in the official world rankings involved. Another former US Open champion, Michael Campbell, and eight time European Tour Order of Merit winner Colin Montgomerie, also play.
Home favourite Ian Woosnam, the 2006 European Ryder Cup captain, is ruled out with a viral infection.
Robert Karlsson will attempt to become the third Swedish golfer in European Tour history to successfully defend a title.
