FRED and Emily Humphreys enjoyed the "best day of our lives" after a York golf club rescued their flood-hit wedding.
The couple had spent months planning their perfect day and picked out the city centre's medieval Merchant Adventurers' Hall for their celebrations on January 2.
But they were left bereft after the River Foss flooded the 14th Century building and it became quickly clear they would not be able to hold their wedding in a venue which was left under water.
The pair turned to Sandburn Hall and the Flaxton venue, working with local suppliers, needed only four days to put on the nuptials for Fred, Emily and 130 guests.
"We thought our wedding would have to be cancelled after the Boxing Day floods, but Sandburn Hall were amazing and pulled out all the stops to get it all organised in just four days”, said the duo.
Hayley Abdelsattar, Sandburn Hall director, said: “We are proud of the team at Sandburn Hall who all pulled together, in what is already a busy period, to make sure the wedding could go ahead.”
