I HAVE taken to frequenting many of the fine restaurants we now have in our city.
Good as many of them are, I must say that in some I have found that the portion size leaves something to be desired.
Indeed I have felt the need, on occasion, to suggest that a magnifying glass be laid along with the knife and fork to help one locate the food.
How glad I am, then, to hear of the introduction of a ‘PPP’ rating by the restaurant guides. This ‘pound per pound’ (lb/£) initiative gives a measure of the amount of food you can expect for your financial outlay.
Hopefully this will encourage restaurants to serve up the good square meals we expect.
