A POWER cut has affected a number of businesses in York this morning.
Northern Powergrid said the cut was reported to them at about 7.50am, and is affected properties in the Blake Street area of the city.
Lucy Mannion, of Mannion & Co, said: "It happens every year when the market is on, year in, year out."
A spokesman for Northern Powergrid said the power cut was reported to them at 7.53am today and had affected 229 properties across the YO1 7, YO1 8 and YO31 postcodes.
Engineers are still at the scene, but the power was understood to have been restored to all affected properties by 11.22am.
The spokesman said: "This was an unknown fault on the high voltage network.
"At the moment we don't know why it happened, we get the fault report later on."
