NOEL Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will land at Leeds First Direct Arena on April 27 next year.

The former Oasis guitarist and principal songwriter has just won the 2015 Q Award for Best Album, a prize decided by readers' votes, to complement such past gongs as the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection in 2013, the NME Godlike Genius Award in 2012 and the Q Icon Award.

Gallagher's band will play a one-off show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on December 10, the day before the release of The Dying Of The Light as the fifth single off his award-winning Chasing Yesterday album. The B-side will be a demo of The Girl With X-Ray Eyes and the single will be issued digitally and on seven inch vinyl, with a limited-edition coloured vinyl available exclusively from noelgallagher.com

Chasing Yesterday went straight to number one after its March 2 release and remains the highest-selling album of 2015 in its first week on sale. Its success was capped by this week's Q Award ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

Gallagher will be supported on April 27 by the cult Welsh band Super Furry Animals. Tickets go on sale on Friday morning at 9am online at firstdirectarena.com
