YORK'S food and drink sector is booming.
Across the city, new cafes, bars, restaurants and shops are springing up every month.
Here's a quick remidner of 16 new food and drink venues that have opened in the city in the past 18 months.
Ambiente in Fossgate - The popular tapas restaurant and bar in Goodramgate added a second branch in October 2014
Sutlers opened in the old Army & Navy stores in Fossgate in March 2015
Yorkshire Meatball Company opened in Hotel Indigo in Walmgate in July 2015
Olivia's Bakery opened in Goodramgate in the summer, with a cafe and fresh bread to take away - specialities include black pudding bread.
Anyone for wine? Veeno opened in Piccadilly in November 2014 serving authentic Italian food and, you guessed it, plenty of wine
Rattle Owl opened in Micklegate. It's independent restaurant is now open, and it also has a wine and beer shop.
Bluebird Bakery was part of that same building... but Al Kippax has now moved to Little Shambles
Indian celebrity chef Jaswant Mehra opened '29 States - The Indian Kitchen' in Tower Street in August 2015
Yorkshire Bar and Grill opened in the refurbished Monkbar Hotel in August 2015
Turtle Bay opened in Little Stonegate in August 2015
Anyone for ice cream? Roberto Culivicchi opened in Goodramgate in April 2015...
And a few months later, La Cremeria in High Petergate added a new larger cafe - also in Goodramgate
In Fossgate, Cosy Time opened in mid-2015 - focusing on ice cream as well as coffee.
The late-night Munchies Cakeaway opened in Holgate Road in spring 2015...
Croque Monsieur opened in Fulford, then added a second outlet at Bootham Bar - complete with Roman ruins below the floor
Pavement Vaults opened in the White Swan building in Piccadilly in November 2015.
