THE future development of Harrogate town centre is the subject six week public consultation starting this week.
Between Friday, September 4 and Friday, October 4 residents and businesses alike will have chance to have their say on a Harrogate Town Centre Strategy and Masterplan, prepared by consultants and designers for the borough council to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the town centre and to make sure the town continues its economic prosperity up to 2025.
The draft masterplan sets out a number of projects around well-known parts of the town, and strategies including a public realm strategy, a visitor strategy, and a movement strategy.
The consultation document and supporting papers will be on the council’s website at consult.harrogate.gov.uk
Officers from the council’s Planning Policy team will answer questions at public exhibitions on Thursday, September 10 from 9am-4pm at Harrogate Farmers Market, Cambridge Street Harrogate; and on Saturday, September 2,6 from 10am-3pm at St Peter’s Church, Cambridge Road, Harrogate.
There will also be an unmanned public exhibition in the foyer at St Peter’s Church from Tuesday, September 22 to Sunday, October 4.
