FIFTEEN new jobs have been created with the opening of a petrol station on the edge of York.
BP London Bridge in Tadcaster Road opened last Wednesday.
The service station is the first joint BP and Marks & Spencer location in the area, and was opened by Lord Mayor Councillor Sonja Crisp following a £1m redevelopment.
Chris Woodburn, BP area manager said: "The new store and introduction of the M&S Simply Food range means we have been able to create fifteen new jobs for people in the local area.
"It’ll be open 24/7 providing customers with a selected range of Marks & Spencer’s high quality fresh, innovative food alongside the best of BP with our Wild Bean Café."
Two more joint BP M&S service stations are expected to open in York by the end of the year, in Lawrence Street and Boroughbridge Road, with more than 50 jobs to be created in total.
