EMERGENCY services have attended two incidents on the A19 in Escrick.
Police were called to the first at 6am when a car overturned.
The driver suffered head injuries in the collision and has been taken to York Hospital.
The second collision, at 8am, occured on the road opposite The Parsonage Country House Hotel and Spa and involved two vehicles.
The road was closed for about an hour to allow for recovery of both vehicles.
It is believed drivers ignored road signs warning them to slow down while re-surfacing work takes place.
