FOLLOWING a near collision with a errant cyclist weaving the wrong way up Goodramgate in the pedestrian zone, I was reminded how in its early years this zone was strictly enforced.
You used to see an elderly gentleman riding cautiously through the pedestrian zone and with a disability badge secured to his cycle.
This made made me wonder whether other than the police or paramedics anyone else is legally allowed to traverse the pedestrian zones.
