YORK police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted man.

Viktors Sokolovskis, 42, is wanted in Latvia on suspicion of theft offences.

A European Arrest Warrant has been issued for Sokolovskis, and he was arrested at York Magistrates’ Court in September 2014, after appearing on a separate matter of two thefts in Wheldrake.

He was then due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 12 for an extradition hearing, but did not turn up.

Police want anyone who sees Sokolovskis or knows where he is to get in touch. He is known to have links to York and Hull but could be anywhere in the country.
