NOW I really do think I have heard everything: a man kills a bird by pulling its head off and seems to have escaped any form of punishment (The Press, January 27).
He appears to have adopted a criminal way of life with the blessing of those who should know better. Can District Judge Adrian Lower really have said that there was nothing that could be done to ensure that this person got his just deserts?
What sort of society finds it easier to allow them to simply carry on with an aimless and hurtful way of life and not receive any retribution? What sort of message does this attitude give other youngsters – that if they are nasty and rotten enough, they are beyond the law?
