THERE is still time to make nominations to the East Riding of Yorkshire Counci's Chairman's Awards.
The prizes will be given out as a special ceremony at The Spa Bridlington in May and go to individuals, businesses and projects that have helped improve the East Riding over the past year.
Council chairman Pat O’Neil said: “People only have until the end of the month to make nominations so I would ask residents to think if there is someone within their community who would be a deserving recipient of an award.”
There are five categories - community, built heritage, environment, business and sport.
Former winners Sumo UK, based in Melbourne near Pocklington, design and manufacture a cultivation machinery, and have earned a reputation for outstanding work.
They took one of the business awards and managing director Shaun Whealleans said: “We were very honoured to be nominated for the award and delighted to have won and have the work we do here recognised.”
