Horse dies in collision
A HORSE died after being struck by a car in York on Friday night.
North Yorkshire Police said the animal was hit by a silver Vauxhall Corsa in Murton Way, Osbaldwick, at about 7.40pm, and died at the scene.
Police closed the road to allow for the animal and the car, which was badly damaged in the incident, to be removed.
A spokesman said the driver of the vehicle was a local man, and he had not been injured in the crash.
