A HORSE has died after being struck by a car in York.
North Yorkshire Police said the animal was hit by a silver Vauxhall Corsa in Murton Way, Osbaldwick, at about 7.40pm tonight and died at the scene.
Police have closed the road to allow for the remains of the animal and the car, which was badly damaged in the incident, to be removed.
A spokesman said the driver of the vehicle was a local man, and had not been injured in the crash.
The road is expected to remain closed until about 9pm.
