MR D Fillingham (Letters, December 29) tells us that foxes don’t eat humans (not a lot of people know that); he also compares foxes with criminal activities and statistics.

If Mr Fillingham was a true animal lover, he would be telling us that foxes are one of the worst wildlife criminals known to man, and as far as statistics go he is unable to tell us how many baby rabbits, pheasant chicks, ducks or chickens foxes kill in a year.

As far as Mr Fillingham’s choice of neighbours go, I would much rather live next door to a human criminal than a verminous, rabid fox.

At least you could keep an eye on the criminal, but not on the cunning fox.
