POLICE were called to check on a New Year’s reveller in York who had slept in a car that wasn’t his.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said the man, believed to be a local man in his twenties, had been out celebrating, and climbed into what he thought was his vehicle to sleep in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
When police arrived at the vehicle - which was parked in Castlegate - he told them he realised the car did not belong to him, but he remembered climbing in through the boot.
The car owner was called, and confirmed it had not been damaged.
