A SHOPPER was able to fend off an attacker as he tried to snatch her bag.
The 43-year-old woman was about to get into her car at 3.30pm on December 29 when a man came up behind her near Curry’s store on the Bessingby Retail Park, Bridlington.
Police believe the man pushed the woman into the side of her car as he struggled to grab the bag, but she was able to defend herself and the man ran off.
The woman sustained minor injuries but didn’t need any medical treatment. The offender has been described as white, aged in her mid to late 20s and around 5ft 8ins tall with a skinny build.
He had short brown hair and was wearing a grey beanie hat, thick waist-length blue coat and blue jeans.
Anyone with information can who witnessed the attempted bag snatch or who can identify the offender are urged to call Humberside Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 2088897 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
