NOW that Labour has lost control, wouldn’t it be nice if the collective wisdom of our council had a change of heart and continued to empty our green garden waste.

In common with many readers, I have a garden and like many the leaves are just starting to fall, just as the council stops garden waste collection for the winter. I paid for an extra green bin, so I expect value for money.

I have started an e-petition on the council website to ask for the garden waste to be collected through winter. I noticed that two years ago someone did the same and got 30 responses, then last year someone else started a petition for the self same subject and got only 20 responses.

So if the good citizens of York feel as I do then show your support, sign the petition and just perhaps people power can effect change.
