POLICE are concerned for the safety of a missing 15-year-old girl.
Kiera Meldrum was reported missing from the Humberside area on Monday, and North Yorkshire Police believe she may now be in the York area.
Kiera is white, about 5ft tall, with long, brown hair and hazel coloured eyes, and has made contact with her family through text messages. However, officers are concerned for her safety due to her age and the length of time she has been missing.
Inspector Ed Noble of North Yorkshire Police, said: "I would like to make a direct appeal to Kiera to make contact and return home. Kiera, you are not in any trouble at all, but people are very worried about you. Please get in touch with the police and let us know where you are.
"I am also appealing to anyone who knows where Kiera could be, to contact us without delay.”
Kiera and anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
