A TEAM from Market Weighton has won the East Riding's Inter Village Games.
The Market Weighton Wonders triumphed in the competition which included boccia, new age kurling, seated aerobics, indoor archery and skittles.
There are now over 35 groups across the East Riding and teams are invited to compete in the inter-village games which are now in their fourth year.
Second place went to the Skidby Bakers in second place, with the Keyingham Goodies in third.
Samantha James, rural community sports coach, said: “It was a fantastic event – the groups are getting to know each other and although it is competitive there is always a very friendly atmosphere.”
The teams were all community groups set up as a result of the council’s promoting independence project, which is aimed at people over 50 and disabled adults.
