With the big day looming, the organisers of the Yorkshire Marathon offer the following travel advice for runners and spectators heading to the start line:
Park and Run
A dedicated Park and Run service will run every 15 minutes from Elvington Airfeld, which is only a short bus ride from the start line at the University. Parking is free – you just need to book your bus tickets in advance.
From the City Centre
If you are travelling direct from York City Centre you can book a ticket on our City Centre Shuttle from York Railway Station to the University, which runs every 10minutes. Click here to book your tickets in advance. Alternatively hop on one of the locally-operated services.
NEW FOR 2014
This year we will also be running a new special Spectator Bus Service, from the University to Plusnet Spectator Zones at Dunnington and Stamford Bridge – allowing your friends and family to get out on course to cheer you on, whilst also getting them back in time to see you finish!
Tickets are just £3 for individual travel and we’d advise you book in advance as this service is expected to be very popular.
