STUDENTS and staff at Tadcaster Grammar School were given the opportunity to express their opinion on the issue of Scottish independence by voting in a referendum which asked: “Should Scotland be an independent country?”.
There was a definite answer of “no thanks”, with a majority vote of 877 against 227 for Yes.
Joyce Harrison, house leader for Wharfe house, who is originally from Scotland, decided to organise the school vote. She said: “It is so important that everyone should be able to vote.
“This will not only affect the future of Scotland, but the whole of the United Kingdom.”
