FRIDAY night and two men are squaring off for a punch-up in the street. Their supporters hurl abuse at each other, goading their fighter on.
We’ve all seen it. So what do you, as a neutral bystander, think?
My personal emotion is utter disgust. Fighting won’t solve anything. It will brutalise both the bruisers and only fuel their resentment and anger for the future.
This is also my view of the Israeli/Palestinian situation. Only it is so much more dreadful for both the fighters and the bystanders.
I hope Ian Paisley died a happy man. He eventually realised the harder, but more rewarding road is to peace and not violence.
Now can someone please advise our war-mongering Government regarding the Middle East and Ukraine?
