A MOTORIST was stopped in Selby yesterday after a short police pursuit.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police attempted to pull over the car at about 1.45pm, but when the driver failed to do so, called for backup.
Several vehicles eventually stopped the car off Doncaster Road, close to St Mary's Primary School.
A police spokesman said the motorist was given a fixed penalty notice for failing to stop for police.
