A GOLDEN DAY was enjoyed by Minster Bowls Club at their annual match against a Lord Mayor’s team.
The York Amateur Bowls Association club are celebrating their 50th anniversary as a league team, which gave added spice to the game at Clarence Gardens against a side led by the current Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Ian Gillies.
Said Minster BC captain Dave Beavers after the 49-19 win: “It was a great day and again showed why bowls is such a popular sport in the city.”
