THE NSPCC has translated its successful Underwear Rule campaign materials for parents and carers into Russian, Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian.
The Underwear Rule helps parents and carers to have simple age-appropriate conversations with their primary school-aged children about keeping safe from abuse, without having to use scary words or mentioning sex.
In order to make it more accessible to Eastern European communities in North Yorkshire and across the UK, the campaign has been translated into Russian, Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian.
The NSPCC’s easy-to-remember guide – Talk PANTS – helps children understand the key points of the rule and is available in the four new languages now.
PANTS stands for: Privates are private, Always remember your body belongs to you, No means no, Talk about secrets that upset you and Speak up, someone can help.
