MORE than 50 teams are taking part in North Yorkshire Police’s “lifestyle challenge” project this summer.
The initiative sees young people from around the county carrying out projects that benefit the community in some way.
One of the teams is The Yorkies, made up of Kezia, Romy and Grace, who are working hard to raise money for the Choose 2 Youth Group at Moor Lane youth Centre.
Kezia said: “We have been working to create a chill-out area for the young people at Choose2 youth club. This is a club for disabled young people at Moor Lane Youth Centre.
“We asked them what they would like and now we are fundraising and collecting things they would like to use in their chill-out area, so we went to Tesco.
“They were great and gave us some of the equipment we need.”
The competition finishes on September 2 and winning teams will be announced at the Lifestyle Awards Ceremony on November 13 at York Racecourse.
