YORK driver James Thompson will rejoin Alfa Romeo for the 2007 World Touring Car Championship season.
He raced with the Italian manufacturer in 2005 after making some guest appearances for them in the 2003 and 2004 European Touring Car Championship.
Last season Thompson raced for Spanish marque SEAT Sport and finished eighth in the WTCC.
He said: "This is a great move for me. I've always worked well with Alfa Romeo. It is a beautiful car."
Mexico has been withdrawn from this year's calendar and will be replaced by Zandvoort in Holland, on May 6.
