Isn’t it time that in the majors like Wimbledon, women players should play the best of five from the quarter finals onwards?
Having had equal prize money with the men for the past few years, the excitement that long five setters produce may be just the fillip the women’s game needs, as at the moment their entertainment value is well below that of the men.
An extra two sets of Maria Sharapova must surely increase the male audience, despite all that grunting.
