I AM writing in response to the article, "Caravan plan for green belt land", (The Press, January 11), regarding a plan to site a touring caravan park in Landing Lane, Haxby.

This proposal will have a serious detrimental effect on what is a pleasant, well-used amenity for joggers, ramblers, dog walkers, local Scout groups and other members of the public (including residents!).

Our green belt and local environment must be protected. The "park" is a money-making venture and in no way enhances Haxby, increases tourism or jobs for York Cristina Lewis, The Landings, Haxby.
