ALMOST a hundred homes in York have been without power since early this morning.
A power cut struck the Foxwood area of York at about 4.30am, leaving 99 homes without power, suppliers Northern Powergrid said.
A spokesman confirmed "a handful" of homes in the YO24 3 postcode, mainly around Bellhouse Way and Stirrup Close, did have power restored by about 6.15am, but the remaining homes would not have power until later today.
He said the cause of the fault was "an issue with underground power cable", and all homes should have power restored by about 3pm
