A PRIMARY school in York held it's first summer festival since merging with another school.

Osbaldwick Primary School merged with Derwent School last summer, and the two schools now operates as one from two sites.

At the weekend the school held a free family fun day at it's Osbaldwick Lane base complete with a bouncy castle and a number of different stalls and games. The sun shone on the day and the crowds enjoyed a variety of bands including Unit 8, Arc and Trigger 66 who playing throughout the event, together with a BBQ and tombola.

Head teacher, Lesley Barringer, said: "The bands were all fabulous, hundreds of people came and everybody had a fantastic day, made even better by the beautiful weather.

"The day was about bringing the community and parents together from both schools and I'd like to thank the school association who organised the event."
