It is also confirmed Blissett has been made redundant by administrators Jan 10: Council claims it is backing the local consortium and would help the club move to revamped Huntington Stadium should efforts to remain at BC fail.

Jan 14: Club's prospects look bleak when it is announced local consortium has withdrawn its potential bid for saving the club. Trust announces it is considering launching its own take over for the club. Brazilian striker Rogerio released. Council meeting at the Guildhall ends in uproar when around 100 protesting City fans accuse councillors of not doing enough to safeguard City when they rule out a CPO on BC.

Jan 15: City president John Greenway calls on Craig to do more to help save City. Batchelor spotted at a reserve team game at BC with a unidentified man, later revealed as John Heynes, sparking speculation he is one of the parties interested in acquiring the club.

Jan 16: Press reveals more people (1,479) have objected to plans to build on Bootham Crescent than any other planning application in council history. City handed an 11th hour lifeline with at least one would-be purchaser making a formal bid to save the club from oblivion. Another deal is believed to be pending. Supporters' Trust stumps up £92,000 to cover the club's costs over the coming weeks.

Jan 17: Mystery would-be buyer still to submit a bid insists he is still looking to buy the club and ground. Evening Press reveals the one confirmed bid is made by an Oxfordshire millionaire, aided by Batchelor. Dolan and City players salute Trust for giving cash to keep the club going.

Jan 18: Administrators admit they are still willing to accept offers for the stricken club.

Craig admits talks have been held with two prospective purchasers and a price for buying shares in BCH has been agreed by the one confirmed bidder for the club. He also says he believes the £400,000 Persimmon sponsorship money that was directed to Batchelor's motor-racing team should have gone to the football club. A 4,611 crowd watch City beat Swansea 3-1, which could have been the club's last.

Jan 20: Trust announces it has submitted its own bid for the club should would-be owners abandon their takeover attempts. Club rocked after star player Alan Fettis quits the club for rivals Hull.

Jan 22: Mystery would be purchaser still to make a bid for club insists Batchelor will not be involved in the club should they take over the club. A hastily arranged recruitment drive by the Trust is deemed a massive success with scores of fans signing up to the organisation.

Jason Van Der Sarr appears on local television claiming to be a millionaire and interested in buying City.

Jan 24: Van Der Sarr reveals he plans to invest £6.5 million into the club. Administrator describes Van Der Sarr as a "serious contender". Fettis's move to Hull finally goes through and City sign Michael Ingham on loan from Sunderland.

Jan 25: Van Der Sarr pulls out of the race following rumours about his private life. Denies his bid was a hoax but also refuses to discuss Press reports that a Kaine Vanbaston, matching his appearance, had appeared in Scarborough Magistrates Court last year and was convicted of four counts of attempting to obtain property by deception.

Jan 28: Oxfordshire-based millionaire arrives in York for top level talks with all the major players. Under his bid, it is announced Batchelor will remain as chairman.

Jan 29: Evening Press unveils the Oxfordshire millionaire as John Heynes. Trust express concern that they are excluded from the talks.

Jan 30: Ahead of the rearranged BCH AGM, Batchelor claims club is on the verge of buying back BC and that BCH would give substantial funds to the club once the deal went through. He admits club would eventually move to a new stadium under his proposed take-over bid with Heynes. At a stormy AGM, Craig threatens to bring the curtain down on critical negotiations to save the club if there was a repeat of the protests which marked the postponed meeting. Trust responds to Batchelor's plan with caution. City legend Barry Swallow needs a formal ballot to be re-elected as a director of BCH.

Skipper Chris Brass pledges his future to City amid mounting interest from other clubs.

Jan 31: Top scorer Peter Duffield follows Fettis out of BC and joins Boston with an icy blast at Batchelor. Unnamed northern millionaire threatens to end his interest after Batchelor-Heynes bid demands exclusivity' from administrators. Says three sites have been earmarked for a new ground but moving to Huntington is not an option.
