CLIFTON with Rawcliffe and Dunnington primary schools came through a Drax Cup play-off final in the York East School Sports Partnership qualifiers.
Competing at Dunnington Cricket Club against other winners of previous cluster events, including Robert Wilkinson, Ralph Butterfield and Hempland, the two schools now join Rufforth in representing York at the North area final of the Drax Cup on June 18, back at Dunnington.
The Drax Cup is the biggest under-9s cricket competition in the UK and is open to schools from across Yorkshire and Teesside.
Teams play in a series of matches to produce four area winners from the North, South, East and West. These four teams will then play the 2014 Drax Cup Finals at Headingley on Wednesday, July 2.
