SELBY District Council's leader is inviting residents to ask him questions about any subject.

Mark Crane, who is the Conservative member for Brayton, says he will answer queries, even if they are not about a service which the council is responsible for.

Residents are being asked to submit their questions via the Ask The Leader section on the council's website, www.selby.gov.uk Coun Crane said: "You can use the online service to ask me about any issue or service, and it does not necessarily have to be about a service the district council provides.

"I have already received a wide range of questions, including general enquiries about our services, requests for information for school and college projects, and specific questions about individual issues.

"The requests have come in from people of all ages and from right across the district.

"The service is easy to access directly from the council website's homepage and is another way of enabling people to interact with their councillors and their council."

For those without internet access, on-line services are available at North Yorkshire County Council libraries in Selby, Sherburn-in-Elmet and Tadcaster.
