SELBY'S longest serving milkman has delivered his last pint - after 25 years on the rounds.
John Dickinson, 64, started his early morning deliveries when he left the Army after 22 years in the Royal Engineers.
He has delivered many hundreds of thousands of pints since.
"I've never regretted being a milkman," he said.
"I've had some wonderful customers and made some great friends."
During his Army career, John served in Germany, Hong Kong and South East Asia, where he lived with his wife, Audrey, and son.
He used to get up at 1am to start his round and make sure the last pinta arrived on customers' doorsteps before 8.30am.
John, whose first job was at Terry's Market Garden, in Barlby, said: "I enjoyed the milk round just as I did the Army life."
He now intends to spend more time on his allotment and going on walking trips with his wife.
