A pop up vintage ‘Mods & Rockers’ coffee bar was organised by the Alzheimer’s society, which champions the rights of people with dementia and those who care for them.
The event took place in York as part of Dementia Awareness Week 2014 on Wednesday from 10am until 4pm at the Coppergate Centre.
Delicious cakes and home-baked scones were served by helpers, dressed in vintage. Bone china crockery was also pressed into service for the special occasion.
There were classic British motorbikes, vintage mod scooters, rock ‘n’ rock DJ’s and dancing lessons.
Hudda Morgan, a partner in Harrowells Solicitors, York, who are sponsoring the event, said: “We wanted to support the work the Alzheimer’s Society is doing to increase awareness of dementia and help people in York through the services it offers, as well as raising money for research into the disease."
