ALNE Primary School tag rugby players will try to boost their North Yorkshire Youth Games record this summer after again qualifying for the sporting fiesta.

Alne represented the Hambleton district in the 2006 Games and will do so again later this year after storming through the qualifying event held at Easingwold High School.

The competition, run by York City Knights community development team, saw Alne win all four of their group matches to reach the final, in which Adam Price was the hero with a last-minute winning try in a 4-0 victory over Crayke.

Ten schools competed in the event.

Alne were in group A' alongside Linton-on-Ouse, Husthwaite, Sheriff Hutton and Sutton on the Forest, while Crayke came through group B', which also comprised Huby, Easingwold, Stllington and Forest of Galtres.
